I will be taking a little break from blogging (not that I was posting very
regularly lately anyway)- which may be permanent, may not, I am not sure yet,
but I had a few things I wanted to wrap up. First, thanks to everyone who
has, does, will read this - and your comments always were so wonderful,
especially when I needed them the most!
On to the other stuff... The Flickr Shop Goodies group I started ages ago has
been 'deleted' (every member removed, that is considered deleted to Flickr).
I removed everyone this morning to protect us all from being terminated on
Flickr. I did post a message, but I am not sure if it is reachable now, so
here is the scoop: the group, and all the photos in it were against
Flickr's terms of service. Over the last few days I had been getting more
and more emails from people saying flickr was going through and terminating some
users for linking to items they were selling. This got me nervous and I
started researching, and found that under
flickr's terms of service,
that under the DON'Ts it states:
Use Flickr for Commercial Purposes
Flickr is for personal use only. If you sell products, services or
yourself through your photostream, we will terminate your account
I was sent this link to a conversation of Etsy about someone who lost their
flickr account:

Lastly, I noticed a similar group (I think it was things for sale) was gone -
I belonged to this group and received no notification about it going away so I
think Flickr removed it.
I really did not want anyone's account to be terminated - so I acted quickly
removing people and left a message telling people what was going on so they
could take appropriate measure with their photos. I did this in what I
thought was everyone's best interests, however, there are some people upset
about this, and I want anyone to know they can set up a similar group at their
own risk if they chose to, I just was looking out for fellow flick members, and
I apologize if you were upset or offended.
Also, if you are nervous and would like to back up your flickr photos, I
downloaded and used the following program to make a copy of all my flickr
photos, but please, as with all files on the internet, download and run at your
own risk:

If anyone has any questions about what happened with the group after reading
this, please email me at
hope@thesoulofhope.com
Now, after all that, I still use and love flickr - and that will the best
place to keep up with me from now on, I love taking photos and sharing my craft
so I will be posting on
my flickr stream often.
Those of you who emailed me to send me a business card, I will be sending you
thank you treats as soon as I get them! Thank you!
Cheers everyone!
